Ubisoft has finally revealed more of the story of ‘Assassin’s Creed Rogue’ in a new trailer showcasing the plight of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin turned Templar.

The new story trailer ‘Assassin’s Creed Rogue’ shows more of the early segments of Cormac’s character, a member of the Brotherhood of Assassins who is brash, irresponsible and lacking in discipline. We also get a glimpse of the tragedy that seems to trigger Cormac’s shift from the Assassins to the Templar Order. From the looks of it, an assignment looks to go horribly wrong with hundreds of innocents ending up dead, to which Cormac blames the Brotherhood for completely. In response to his anger, the Assassins then betray Cormac by attempting to end his life. However, this does not pan through as it only leaves Cormac alive fueled further in his drive to join the Templars to become an Assassin Hunter.

The trailer also dabbles in franchise history by showing off characters from past games such as ‘Assassin’s Creed 3’s’ Achilles and Haytham Kenway and ‘Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s’ Adewale. As the middle narrative point connecting those two past games together, ‘Assassin’s Creed: Rogue’ looks to shed light on the truth of what caused the downfall of the Assassin influence in the colonies at the start of ‘Assassin’s Creed 3.’ And from what we can see in the trailer, it looks like Cormac is the one who one of the primary reasons behind it.
