The latest wave is based on ‘The Real Ghostbusters’ animated series and includes 8″ scale figures of Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman, and The Staypuft Marshmallow Man! These are the final figures that have been shown for the line as of the time of this writing, but with Toy Fair just days away who knows? I, for one, wouldn’t count this line out just yet. Series 10 of ‘Ghostbusters Select’ from Diamond Select Toys hits stores this week for $24.99 each!

More Mezco Pre-Toy Fair Reveals

Mezco seems to be pulling out all of the stops for some of their new products just ahead of New York Toy Fair! This week they have released new information and images for one of their highly anticipated box sets, plus an entirely new toyline that has never been seen before!

First up we’ve got a much better look at the all new One:12 Collective ‘The Warriors’ Box Set! This set includes four figures in total, with Swam and Ajax from The Warriors and two Baseball Fury gang members! These figures feature all of the articulation and detail that fans have come to love about the One:12 Collective line and include a massive amount of accessories like alternative heads, hands, and weapons, making this box set a “must have” for fans of the film. This set is already up for pre-order and will cost a whopping $275 when it releases next winter. Check out the full release details from Mezco below!

In addition to this box set, this week Mezco also released prototype images and information for an all new line called ‘5 Points’! This is a new retro style line of figures, and as the name implies they feature a minimalistic take on things with just 5 points of articulation. Mezco has not yet released any information as to what scale these will be in, but our best guess is likely 3.75″ as that is the scale that the majority of retro figures like this are based in. The only licenses for this line so far appear to be Hanna Barbera, with characters from ‘Birdman’ and ‘Scooby Doo: Where Are You?’ shown. Hopefully we will see more on this line at Toy Fair this weekend!

NECA’s Newest Sci-Fi Reveals

We’re sure we will see lots of great new stuff coming from the team at NECA this weekend at New York Toy Fair 2019, but for now we will have to settle for closer looks at two of their most highly anticipated upcoming figures plus a whole new figure we never even saw coming!

Diving right in we’ve got a much better look at the upcoming ‘Alien: Resurrection’ Deluxe Newborn Alien 7″ scale figure! As it is in scale with the rest of the figures in the long running ‘ALIEN’ line, making it a massive 11″ tall! Combine that with over 30 points of articulation and you’ve got one hell of a figure coming our way! The NECA Deluxe Newborn Alien from ‘Alien: Resurrection’ is due to release in the second quarter of 2019.

From Alien: Resurrection, the fourth movie in the thrilling sci-fi series! Two hundred years after Ripley’s death, military scientists are attempting to clone Ripley in order to extract the Queen embryo that was in her body when she died… And on the eighth attempt, they succeed.

Contaminated with Ripley’s DNA, the Queen gives birth to a grotesque human/alien hybrid called the “Newborn.” The Newborn action figure stands approximately 11” tall and includes a display stand. The Newborn features a screen-accurate sculpt and almost 30 points of articulation. This deluxe figure comes in display-friendly window box packaging with opening flap.

Next up we’ve got a new look at the new NECA Ultimate Emissary Predator #1 figure from ‘The Predator’! You may find yourself asking “wait what is an Emissary Predator?”, and that would make perfect sense, because they never technically happened! The Emissary Predator is based on a character design from a deleted scene from last year’s ‘The Predator’! The figure gives you a chance to enjoy the scene which was never really meant to be, so be sure to pick it up when it releases in the second quarter of 2019!

From the new Predator movie directed by Shane Black! Although their scenes were deleted from the final cut of the movie, the Emissary Predators were military Predators who fought alongside the Loonies.

Emissary #1 stands over 8” tall and features 30 points of articulation. Includes interchangeable masked and unmasked heads, 2 pairs of hands, and rifle accessory. Comes in collector-friendly deluxe window box packaging with opening flap.

Finally we have a fantastic new figure that we never saw coming in a million years with an 8″ Retro Style figure of Detective Ray Cameron from ‘Night Of The Creeps’! Once again partnering with Scream Factory, NECA is bringing us a special 8″ Retro Style figure to release in a limited edition bundle with a Deluxe Edition ‘Night Of The Creeps’ Bluray, which is limited to just 3000 pieces. Detective Ray Cameron comes packaged with a shotgun, a can of beer, and a removable trench coat! This set is up for pre-order now with a price point of just $69.99 and a release date of May 28th, 2019!

The ‘Walking Dead’ Is Dead?

Fans will be shocked to hear that McFarlane Toys apparently has no new ‘The Walking Dead’ merchandise planned or in development! According the ToyArk and McFarlane Toys themselves, McFarlane “doesn’t have any Walking Dead figures set to release this year”! At least that’s what they said in a since deleted Facebook comment in response to a fan question regarding the line. We haven’t seen any new ‘Walking Dead’ figures from them in a while as is, and even several figures previously revealed for a 2018 release have since ended up cancelled. So will they continue to hold the license? Only time will tell.
