After that amazing ‘Deadpooltest footage that was leaked, it was only a matter of time before Fox confirmed a release date for the film. However, for all of us hoping that we would be getting an R rated film, it is starting to sound like we sadly won’t be as the film is getting a PG-13 rating.

This latest rumor has unconfirmed word from director Tim Miller that they know how to make the movie be PG-13. According to Mark Reilly from SchmoesKnow, “I heard from the director that they finally figured out the script, and it was right before this was announced, that they figured out…and you guys are all going to hate this…they figured out how to make it PG-13. And therefore not lose its soul…that’s a quote…of the script, so that they can make it. Look guys, it looks like Deadpool’s going to be PG-13.”

This isn’t news really as Robert Liefeld who created Deadpool initially said on Twitter back in July that:

Still, with how violent and over the top the character is we were all hoping for something a little more true to character. Will they really keep the soul intact while leaving it at PG-13?

The potential rating begs us to question if it will be able to wipe out that horrible memory of Deadpool from ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ that even Ryan Reynolds has said that “it’s like the worst relationship I’ve ever had!” He wants a good Deadpool movie, we want a good Deadpool movie, but if the studio insists that it is PG-13, do they want one? I’m sure that Deadpool will have to mention the movie since one of his classic traits in the comic is that he knows he is a comic character which means in the film he has to know that he is in a movie.

Are you still looking forward to Deadpool if it is rated PG-13? Do you think they can do the film justice without an R rating? Share your thoughts below true believers!
