The CW is sharing some details about the upcoming third season of ‘Arrow’ and while much of it is in the general synopsis, we have some spoilery information for you as well! If you are looking to be completely surprised by what Oliver Queen is going to be up to you may want to turn back now though if not you’ll want to check out the details below!

In the first episode of the next season, titles “The Calm” we get a synopsis as follows:

In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

I almost suspect that the second episode will be called “The Storm” with a villain returning. So romance is in the air, the police are no longer after him, and crime is down. Things almost looked good for Oliver but you just can’t let a super hero get too comfortable. Even though Arrow has mainly dispatched the League of Assassins from his city and killed off or locked up many of his other enemies things, just can’t go smoothly for him. Past that with Lance now being a captain and able to take the task force off of Arrow, most likely we’re seeing a bit of a time jump.

What deadly villain may be making an appearance? Well while Seth Gabel’s Count Vertigo did die in season 2 we know that Peter Stormware is going to be taking over the role so that is most likely who we’ll be seeing here. However, Count Vertigo isn’t the only villain Arrow will be up again as the second episode will have Oliver hunting down a “vicious killer and mercenary who is wanted for murder in seven countries and now is targeting victims who are associated with a specific company.”

It isn’t clear if the company is Queen Consolidated or another but with the introduction of Ray Palmer who turns into The Atom which does revolve around the company, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that the two are related.

Are you looking forward to the upcoming season of ‘Arrow’? Who do you think the second enemy might end up being?

‘Arrow’ Season 3 is set to premeire on Wednesday, October 8th at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW
