In one of the longest waits for a sequel to be released, Frank Miller’s ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For‘ is finally almost out and marketing should start kicking off in full swing! Only, it can’t completely as the MPAA just rejected one of the main posters for the film. In a series known for sex and violence, I’ll give you one guess which of the two is the reason that the poster was denied.

With Eva Green plastered all over the cover of it you should have an easy guess at what exactly that is! The reason it was rejected? To quote “for nudity – curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown”. I’m sure we’ll see an edited version hitting movie theaters, but of course if you are as intrigued as I was, you can check out the full version below:

As we all know, sex sells so it isn’t a surprise that they tried to get this one pushed out there. It is just a surprise that they thought it may get approved as is. Like I said, I’m sure an edited version of this will be available pretty soon in theaters everywhere with a little less visible nipple. Of course, if that isn’t enough for you I’ve included the five posters that were approved by the MPAA so you can get more of an idea of the visual tone of the film! Below we have Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Rosario Dawson and Mickey Rourke all in character and ready to go!

Clearly this is all in keeping with the ultra stylized look, sexiness, and violence from the first film. Are you excited to see a return to the return of Miller’s ‘Sin City’? Which character(s) are you most looking forward to seeing on the big screen?

‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’ is set to hit theaters on August 22nd, 2014.
