One of the new additions to the ‘X-Men’ movie universe is Quicksilver, played by Evan Peters.  Interestingly, his “real name” is listed as Peter Maximoff versus “Pietro” in the comic books.  This may be how Fox and Marvel/Disney are both able to use the same character in separate movie franchises.  Fox get’s “Quicksilver” and “Peter” while Marvel gets to use “Pietro” but not “Quicksilver.”  This is unconfirmed at this point, however.

Quicksilver is stated to be a major scene-stealer in the upcoming mutant movie and in anticipation for the new film, Fox has released a new featurette showcasing the silver-haired speedster.  You can check it out below:

In the comics, Quicksilver is Magneto’s son, but presumably that fact has been altered in the film version since the movie is set in the 70s and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) isn’t that old.  (But there may still be a loose reference to their relation.)  Director Bryan Singer planned to include a reference to the character’s sister, the Scarlet Witch, but ended up cutting the scene.

Are you looking forward to seeing Quicksilver brought to life?
