‘True Blood’ is one of the most buzz-worthy shows in HBO’s history.  Based on Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels, the show stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard and was an instant hit with its mix of horror, romance and lots and lots of sex.  The TV series varied from Harris’ novels in many respects, however.  Harris recently released the final novel in her book series and fittingly HBO decided that the upcoming Season Seven of the TV adaptation will be the last.  In all fairness, the ratings on the show have dwindled and fans have become unhappy with some recent storylines.  But will the soapy vamp saga return to its former glory for its final season?

HBO has released this fast-paced trailer which shows a devastated Bon Temps overrun by sick vampires, infected by Hepatitis V.  In the Season Six finale, it appeared that the vampires were about to attack most of the citizens of the town, who’d gathered at Bellefleur’s (formerly Merlotte’s) in an effort to pair the human citizens with healthy vampire “bodyguards.”  It looks like the attack may have been successful as Bon Temps looks like a ghost town as Sookie, Alcide, Jason, Andy and Sam investigate the remains of the town, which Sookie indicates has been abandoned by the government.  And the remaining survivors appear in flashes to tease their presence… for as long they last.

With this being the final season, the show has nothing to lose really.  Do you think things will really hit the fan?  We’ve seen beloved characters perish in the past.  Who do you think we’ll be saying ‘Au revoir’ to this season?  Are you sad to see ‘True Blood’ go?  Or are you just happy to have enjoyed the ride up until now?
