Sad news for fans of Billy Dee Williams (‘Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi’, ‘Batman’). It’s starting to sound as if Lando Calrission won’t be involved in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’. While at one point it did appear that he had been asked and even a rumor that he might be involved in ‘Star Wars: Rebels‘ appeared, as of recently he didn’t even know that the new trilogy had begun filming.

When asked if he would be willing to come back and do a segment for Episode 7 his answer was an immediate “Sure. I think a lot of people would love to see Lando come back.”

Let me speak up right here and say to the folks in charge of the film (I’m sure they are reading this) that I am one of those people! Even if it was something as simple as Han and Lando having a little intergalactic phone call with Lando calling from his Millennium Falcon or for any number of other reasons, a cameo could easily fit in.

While he is excited about the thought of putting on Lando’s garb one more time, things aren’t looking too good for that to happen in a universe far far away. At this time, Williams has not been contacted by anyone from ‘Disney’ or ‘Star Wars’ about shooting anything for the film. Actually, as I had mentioned above, he hadn’t even been made aware that they had just begin shooting. It is sad news because I was kind of hoping that he would be joining Harrison Ford‘s Han and Peter Mayhew‘s Chewbacca as a trio of old smugglers in a world where they were now trying to play diplomats or going for one last adventure.

What do you think of the lack of word on Lando’s return? Are you a bit disappointed or do you think they may still have a small scene with him? Share your thoughts below!
