‘Transcendence’ has had a few featurettes and trailers already released, but I really feel that the film isn’t getting as much marketing as a movie that involves Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman usually would. While mind to digital memory is still a stretch into the realm of science fiction, it is something that might be happening sooner than later at this point. While they don’t touch upon the morality of living forever, they do talk about some of what the downsides could be when science can move too quickly.

At any rate, we do have four new clips from the film that prove this is a movie will be thought provoking and entertaining.

The fist clip up we have Depp’s Will Caster and Freeman’s Joseph Tagger both asking eachother a very important question. “Can You Prove You’re Self Aware?”

The second clip is the 30 second TV spot for the film that really shows some of the downsides of a man transcending into a virtual body with the resources to do even more.

The third TV spot for the film shows a tease of Depp’s character dying and also what happens after.

The final TV spot is close to the first though just shows different negative outcomes from the first.

Overall we have some new footage for the film and anything that puts Depp into a potentially mainstream science fiction film that is dealing with a topic we are probably pretty close to is something I am looking forward to seeing.

Have the latest teasers caught your interest? Are you looking forward to seeing ‘Transcendence’?

Synopsis:

Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is the foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, working to create a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. His highly controversial experiments have made him famous, but they have also made him the prime target of anti-technology extremists who will do whatever it takes to stop him. However, in their attempt to destroy Will, they inadvertently become the catalyst for him to succeed—to be a participant in his own transcendence. For his wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and best friend Max Waters (Paul Bettany), both fellow researchers, the question is not if they can…but if they should. Their worst fears are realized as Will’s thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power, to what end is unknown. The only thing that is becoming terrifyingly clear is there may be no way to stop him.

‘Transcendence’ starring Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall, Cillian Murphy, Clifton Collins Jr., Kate Mara, and Paul Bettany will be released on April 17, 2014.
