Another CW veteran, Sean Faris (‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’) has been added to the cast of the upcoming ‘Supernatural’ spin-off series ‘Tribes’.  Last week we learned that the two main characters had been been cast with Nathaniel Buzolic and Lucien Laviscount, both actors with CW acting experience.  The show will vary from the ‘Supernatural’ formula of hunters traveling all over the place, mainly rural settings, and would instead be set in one location, Chicago and would focus on warring ‘Tribes’ essentially monstrous mafia families that are battling for power in the Windy City.

Faris will portray Julian Durant, a young lycanthrope whose family is feuding with the shapeshifting Hayden family.  Buzolic’s character is named David Hayden, so you can see there is some connection there.  Faris, along with Buzolic and Laviscount will appear in the 20th episode of the current season as part of a backdoor pilot for ‘Tribes’ which, should things go well, be part if The CW’s fall 2014 season, airing April 29th.

Will fans embrace a spin-off series sans the Winchesters and Castiel?  (Uhhh… can we get a Charlie and Dorothy spin off?)

Long-time ‘Supernatural’ writer/producer Andrew Dabb is scripting the episode.  Executive producer Robert Singer is directing.

Will you be tuning in?
