Though an official release date hasn’t been set yet, the next DC animated movie after ‘Justice League: War‘ will be ‘Son of Batman’, marking the animated debut of Damian Wayne, the fourth (?) Robin, created by Grant Morrison as the love child of Bruce Wayne and Talia al-Ghul.  What differentiates this Robin from the previous incarnations is that he was raised from birth to be the world’s most lethal assassin.  Obviously, this puts him at odds with his father who has a strict no kill policy.

In the comics, Damian’s evolution played out over the course of years, but it appears that will be considerably condensed in this movie.  The trailer for the movie was released a couple of weeks ago, but now you can check out a ten-minute preview which further fleshes out what to expect from this animated feature.

The video features revealing interviews with director Ethan Spaulding, producer James Tucker, co-producer Alan Burnett, voice director Andrea Romano and DC Entertainment, Creative Director of Animation Mike Carlin and showcases a lot of revealing footage, discussion about Damian’s comic book origins, plus a look at Jason O’Mara (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Morena Baccarin (Talia al-Ghul) and Stuart Allen (Damian).
