One of the most powerful beings to ever inhabit the Marvel Universe is the Phoenix Force, which famously caused such chaos through host Jean Grey that it caused her demise. However, in Brian Michael Bendis’ ‘All-New X-Men’, the powerful telepath was brought back into continuity thanks to Beast bringing Charles Xavier’s first class of students to the present to try to resolve some problems among the X-Men. Now, in the upcoming crossover event with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ titled ‘The Trial Of Jean Grey’, various alien races have learned of the return of Jean and they set out to put her on trial for her crimes, despite the fact that this Jean hasn’t committed them.
In the very first crossover between the Guardians of the Galaxy and the X-Men, the two teams currently written by Bendis will join forces to save Jean from whatever threats await her in the darkest corners of the universe. This event begins next week with ‘All-New X-Men’ #22.NOW, but thanks to Comic Book Movie, we have a special sneak peek at the issue before it hits the shelves at our local comic book shops. How can you not be cracking up at Iceman making snow angels and singing Run DMC? But while these pages show off a lot of awesome comedic moments, this is most definitely the calm before the storm before the sh*t hits the fan. I mean, Phoenix was a mass murderer, so there are folks out there who are understandably upset. How do you think they’ll retaliate against Jean to bring her to justice for her actions?
