SyFy has released a pretty amazing new trailer for ‘Helix‘ that really ramps up the action as we see people running from something related to the outbreak that scientists are being sent to study. I’ve been on the fence about ‘Helix’ since I first heard about it. While each trailer has looked good so far, with what little we know about the series I still find it hard to see it lasting a multitude of seasons. Of course the fun part about not knowing is that we have a ton of surprises in store for us. If anyone knows how to that, it’s Ronald D. Moore (‘Battlestar Galactica‘,’Star Trek: First Contact’).

Helix is an intense thriller about a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that holds the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation. However, the lethal threat is just the tip of the iceberg, and as the virus evolves, the chilling truth begins to unravel.
So yes, that really does look like it’ll have some great build up and I suspect the disease will give some kind of monstrous changes to the infected humans.
Since Moore is involved, I will be giving the show a shot and I really hope his surprises will once again be worth the wait. Hopefully he’s not too busy producing ‘Outlander‘ to also give this one enough attention.
With the show launching on January 10th, 2014 we’re probably about to get flooded with promotional material for the show and hopefully it all looks as good as this trailer!
