The sequel to ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘ is under a month away now and New Line Cinema is ramping up our expectations with two new international trailer releases! ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug‘ will continue on the original quest of Bilbo Baggins that J.R.R. Tolkien so lovingly penned for us in 1937.

The two new trailers focus on ‘The Quest’ and ‘The Dragon’ which are really the two central points of the film so that’s rather fitting. While there isn’t much new in the two scenes if you’ve watched every trailer that has been released so far you’ll see a couple quick shots you probably haven’t seen before.

It’s only a month away before we get to see a return of Bilbo, Gandalf, and the Dwarves! I’m just glad that we only have to wait until July of 2014 to see the third film in the trilogy, ‘The Hobbit: There and Back Again’.

‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, on an epic quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

Having survived the beginning of their unexpected journey, the Company continues East, encountering along the way the skin-changer Beorn and a swarm of giant Spiders in the treacherous forest of Mirkwood. After escaping capture by the dangerous Wood-elves, the Dwarves journey to Lake-town, and finally to the Lonely Mountain itself, where they must face the greatest danger of all – a creature more terrifying than any other; one which will test not only the depth of their courage but the limits of their friendship and the wisdom of the journey itself – the Dragon Smaug.

‘The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug’ is directed by Peter Jackson and will open in theaters on December 11, 2013.
