About six months ago, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said that there was a good chance that we’d know who would be playing Ant-Man in Edgar Wright’s upcoming Phase Three film before the end of the year. Now, the ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World’ director is hard at work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of the pint-sized powerhouse and is even tweeting teasers of what he’s doing with the film. However, the stars have still not yet been chosen. Rumor has it that Paul Rudd is up for the male lead and Rashida Jones is being eyed to play Janet Van Dyne AKA The Wasp, but nothing has been official yet. But while the search for the film’s stars continues, some new details have emerged about some of the other characters that will be popping up in the film.

According to the British blog Bludhaven Banter, a casting call has emerged across the pond looking for a number of actors and one young actress to take roles in ‘Ant-Man’. You can check out what they’re looking for in the details below:

Young girl, aged 6 to 9 – intelligent and appealing

Asian male, 30s – huge, tough and intimidating, comic ability

Caucasian male, 30s – over 6′, dangerous and rough, comedic

Italian-American male, 50s – scary and unusual features, deadpan humour

Russian male – 30s or 40s, wiry and smart, deadpan humour

Male, 20s or 30s – Under 5’8″, smart and funny

These descriptions are pretty vague, so it’s hard to even theorize which characters some of these could be. But if I had to guess, I’d say that the young girl and the white male could be Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man, and his daughter Cassie, who grows up to be the Young Avenger known as Stature. It’s been said that Lang and Hank Pym were both meant to appear in this movie, so it would make sense if that were who those sentences are referring to. And above all, if there’s anything to be taken away from this blurb, it’s that the film will probably be pretty funny. Then again, we shouldn’t really expect anything less from Wright.

‘Ant-Man’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 31, 2015.
