”Thor: The Dark World‘ has already opened in several countries overseas, but US movie-goers are going to have to wait a few more days for the film’s November 8th debut.  (And on a promising note, so far the reviews have been great!)

In the meantime, the actors are making the rounds to promote the film, including Zachary Levi who plays swashbuckling hero Fandral in the movie.  (He takes over the role from Josh Dallas whose commitment to his ABC show ‘Once Upon A Time‘ conflicted with the filming of ‘Thor 2’.)  Fandral is part of The Warriors Three, along with Volstagg and Hogun and are among Thor’s closest allies.

Levi appeared on a VH1 chat show and discussed playing the hero and even brought an action-packed clip of himself in action.  He talks about filming his stunt scenes and even what it was like working with so many other talented actor.

However, after watching the clip, I’m still not sure how I feel about Levi sporting blond hair!

At any rate, you can watch for yourself below.  (Just a bit of caution, the majority of the interview actually focuses on his current Broadway show, ‘First Date’.  So if you only want to know about ‘Thor’ the topic switches at about 2:45.)

I know I’m not the only one who sees a heavy ‘Return of the Jedi’/Sarlac Pit influence in this particular scene.  But even as such, it’s a pretty exciting clip.  Levi does seem to embrace his character’s swashbuckling persona.  I guess doing all those stunts on ‘Chuck’ have paid off!

What do you think?  Are you looking forward to Levi’s spin on Fandral?  (Or would you have rather had Josh Dallas back?)  Does he pull off the blond hair and goatee?  Post a comment with your reaction below!
