The build up for ‘Carrie’ is in full effect with its release on October 18th and this latest clip focuses both on the growth of Carrie’s (‘Kick Ass 2‘s’ Chloe Grace Moretz) new abilities as well her mother’s [Julianne Moore (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1‘)] decent into madness as she yells at her daughter to get in the closet!
I’m usually the first in line to say that I can’t stand the amount of horror remakes that are being released as of late. Most of them are unoriginal as well as boring. Stephen King remakes so far have been few and far between but the vast majority of them? Also not that great. So when a new remake for a Stephen King film (that I enjoyed the original of) was announced I was weary. Of course that was before they cast Chloe Grace Moretz who I think has a huge potential in genre films if she stays in them as she’s been able to nail each of the parts perfectly so far. So that had caught my interest. But what brought it home for me was the casting of Julianne Moore as her mother.
Who can talk Moore into such a role? I don’t know but damn does the clip show exactly how fitting that she is for it. Each teaser and trailer has made me want to see the full film even more.
I know remakes have been done to death by Hollywood as of late but I’m willing to give this one a pass to see in the theater. How about you though fellow horror fans, are you willing to give this one a shot? Are you as sick of remakes as I usually am that you are going to pass on it or does the acting from these trailers and the skill the actresses have shown in the past outweigh that opinion and make this one worth a shot for you?
