A new trailer for ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ has been released giving fans their first real look at Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel, the fierce elf warrior who was  written specifically for the film, and a better introduction to Smaug and Benedict Cumberbatch who is the voice of ominous dragon

The epic quest continues in this second installment of the trilogy and it looks like the journey for Bilbo and the dwarves only gets wilder as we see Bilbo continuing to hide the fact that he found something very precious in the first film.

The exciting stuff, however, is the extended look at Benedict Cumberbatch’s Smaug as he taunts Bilbo in the gold filled room. The scene is very impressive (but what else would you expect from Peter Jackson?) and is one to look forward to seeing on an IMAX screen.

Also exciting is the new footage where we get to see Tauriel in action and get a whiff of the mystery that seems to surround her. She obviously will make a good match with Orlando Bloom’s Legolas.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think of Smaug, Tauriel and ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug!’
