Well it looks as if Marvel is giving us not one but two new spots for ‘Thor: The Dark World‘ to tease us for its upcoming November 8th, 2013 release. While not really a focus from the trailers (aside from text that play across them) this isn’t just a sequel to ‘Thor‘ but also to the events that took place in ‘The Avengers‘. While I don’t think it’s necessary, I do hope they focus a bit more on this than just Loki in chains and Jane slapping him. Granted, they can’t show us everything in the trailers or why would we go and see the film?

While the first of the two trailers doesn’t have much new it does have a great shot of Loki in chains and a quote that I think we’re going to see repeated quite often. I have a feeling that “hitting doesn’t solve everything” is going to be great meme bait or just a quote people like to impose over the God of Mischief:

Second up,  we have 2 new shots with Loki and 2 new ones with the Dark Elf Malekith whose goal is to bring darkness back to the universe. The best part of the clip? Don’t blink or you’ll miss what looks like Loki fighting Malekith. So much for his “hitting doesn’t solve everything” comment!

So now that you’ve seen the couple new scenes in both videos are you more excited? Less? Are we hitting commercial overload yet? With still a month to go I don’t think the we’re going to be getting a reprieve from ads for the film quite yet. I for one don’t mind as I’m eagerly looking forward to as many Marvel movies as possible to tide me over until ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron‘ .

‘Thor: The Dark World’ continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Directed by Alan Taylor, ‘Thor: The Dark World’ will be in theaters on November 8, 2013 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
