As promised yesterday, the newest and last promo for the premiere of ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ debuted last night during Monday Night Football.

Granted, Monday Night Football may not be the first program one would tie in with an uber geek series like ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,’ but if the show is to be a success and stay on the air, it will have to appeal to the mainstream audience. Disney and Marvel are banking on this and have pulled out all the stops with the promotion of the show.

The latest promo heavily plays on the concept of new-group-of-people-who-must-learn-to-work-together that has been used in many other ensemble sci-fi series. However, instead of the one newbie entering the mix with an already formed group, Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) amasses the individuals and there is a learning curve for each and every one of them. Yes, it’s ‘The Avengers’ all over again but this time with no super powers to get them through the situations.

Check out the promo below:

The first episode will spend the time setting up the team and working on their first mission. Here’s the synopsis of that episode:

In the premiere episode, “Pilot,” it’s just after the battle of New York, and now that the existence of super heroes and aliens has become public knowledge, the world is trying to come to grips with this new reality. Agent Phil Coulson is back in action and has his eye on a mysterious group called the Rising Tide. In order to track this unseen, unknown enemy, he has assembled a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). The group’s first assignment together as a team finds them trying to track down an ordinary man who has gained extraordinary powers. Powers that could have devastating consequences.

The series premiere of ‘Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ is only a few hours away and ScienceFiction.com will be watching. Come back tomorrow where we’ll have a review of the episode and our thoughts of Agent Coulson’s new team!
