‘Star Wars: Episode: Episode VII’ is still nearly two years off, but the notoriously secretive J.J. Abrams is typically keeping mum on nearly everything.  All we have so far are unsubstantiated rumors.  Then again, that was the case with Khan in ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ which they denied backwards and forwards up until the film’s debut when audiences learned that the rumor was true all along.  Nothing was even revealed at the D23 Expo, the special convention Disney hosts every two years to tease all of their upcoming projects.

Now, two more actors are rumored to have read for parts in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII.’  Latino Review, who seem to have friends in high places when it comes to all things nerdy, previously insisted that despite claims to the contrary, Benedict Cumberbatch WILL be in all three chapters of the new trilogy.  They also reported that Saoirse Ronan had read for a lead role.

Now it’s being reported that two more young actors may be up for roles.

First come reports that David Oyelowo, one of the stars of the critically acclaimed ‘Lee Daniels’ The Butler’ has auditioned.  ‘The Butler’ has been a box-office smash and amazingly, the “teen” character Louis in the movie is actually 37 years old!  In addition to this film, the actor has turned in supporting roles in several high-profile movies in the last few years such as ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes‘ and ‘Lincoln’.

Also up for a part is Michael B. Jordan, star of the critically acclaimed ‘Fruitvale Station’ and alum of two beloved TV series, ‘The Wire’ and ‘Friday Night Lights.’  He’s also rumored to be playing the new Human Torch/Johnny Storm in the reboot of ‘The Fantastic Four.’  Jordan could not be hotter right now!  Even Andrew Garfield wants to make out with him upside-down as Spider-Man’s love interest!  Jordan goes a step further than Oyelowo, as he is rumored to have actually met with J.J. Abrams.

Though they are almost ten years apart, the fact that Oyelowo played a teen in ‘The Butler’ could mean they are up for the same role.  But that’s not a certainty and it would actually be pretty cool to have two young black males in leading roles!  Of course, the impulsive assumption would be the son of Lando Calrissian or son or grandson of Mace Windu.  But we have no idea, at this point.  Let’s be honest, we don’t even have proof that either actor even really read for a role.

But are you a fan of Oyelowo or Jordan? Would you like to see them in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’?  If so, what roles do you envision them playing?  Comment below!
