Well, ladies and gentlemen, it’s not too much longer until you can grab your pitchforks and torches! ‘I, Frankenstein’ is coming to theaters on January 24th, 2014. While many early reports marked its release to be on January 14th, it would appear that IMAX and Lionsgate have just announced that it will be officially coming out on the 24th.

I believe in Aaron Eckhart (‘The Dark Knight’). His Frankenstein may seem to be a little too well put together and not be a patchwork of other people, but I really have faith that it’ll work. With a top notch cast and Stuart Beattie (‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’) directing, I suspect this will be visually entertaining with great acting to boot.

The film is based on the graphic novel of the same name and has been slowly gaining momentum as more information has been coming to light about the movie. While we still haven’t had a chance to see a trailer, they have shown early concept art of the main demon, a shot of Aaron Eckhart shirtless for the ladies, preview posters of the 3 opposing factions in the film, the first ‘I, Frankenstein’ motion poster, and the first shot of Aaron Eckhart in character.

Aside from the budget, ‘I, Frankenstein’ needs to do well at the box office for a couple other reasons. Lionsgate isn’t the only company doing a take on the classic monster. Last we heard, TNT was developing Dean Koontz’ ‘Frankenstein’ series and Fox is producing a Frankenstein themed film as well.

Of course competition breeds creativity. Are you looking forward to Frankenstein hitting up the big and small screen? Which take are you most interested in?
