Progress is being made on James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ as each day passes. While we have only gotten a handful of pictures so far like Dave Bautista in a giant tank of water and the assortment of aliens in peril, things are moving right along for the only original franchise in Marvel’s Phase Two. Now, we have a few more details about the film and a new set picture featuring the new look for an old actor.

First up, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shares some new info about ‘Guardians’ in a recent interview with Empire Magazine. In the latest issue of the publication, he starts by getting into where this movie fits in with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked if it takes place at the same time as films like ‘Iron Man 3’, ‘Thor: The Dark World’, and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, he had this to say:

“The general answer is yes. It’s not exactly revealed what year or month it is in relation to the other Phase Two films. But yes, it’s the same time. Certainly [it’s more connected] than the others. We’ve already said that Thanos plays a part in it and is a character in it. That in and of itself should tell you it’s connected to the other worlds.”

I wonder what he means when he says that it’s more connected than the others. As far as we know, the film largely takes place in space and everything else is pretty much based on Earth. It’s possible that he misspoke, but Feige does know way more about what’s to come than we do.

Then, he talked about the villains that Star-Lord and company will have to face. He already mentioned Thanos, but Nebula, Ronan the Accuser, and the Collector respectively played by Karen Gillan, Lee Pace, and Benecio Del Toro are in the mix as well. But who takes the lead in the charge against the Guardians? We get our answer right here:

“Ronan The Accuser is very much the main bad guy. And Thanos is lurking above it all. You will learn more about Thanos in Guardians, for sure. Certainly you’ll get more than the one turn around and smirk. You’ll get much more than that!”

Finally, a new photo from the set in England has surfaced online of ‘Walking Dead’ star Michael Rooker in full costume as Yondu. While filming in the countryside of Surrey, a fast-acting photographer caught Rooker emerging from a spaceship crash site looking pretty blue. Trust me, I don’t mean sad. Check it out for yourself:
