We already knew for sure that Fox would be bringing ‘The Wolverine’, ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’, and ‘Predator’ to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and it was pretty much a no-brainer that ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ would show up as well. While many expected some official casting announcements or maybe some footage, con attendees found a whole viral campaign underway with a display from Trask Industries.

Coming Soon was the first to break the news of Bolivar Trask’s company making their presence known at Comic-Con. In the Marvel Universe, Trask is the one who created the massive mutant-hunting machines known as Sentinels and in the upcoming film from Bryan Singer, the creator is rumored to be played by ‘Game of Thrones’ star Peter Dinklage. Now, in San Diego, employees of the company are roaming around distributing pamphlets, hanging propaganda posters, and showing off a piece of the Sentinel Mark I production model. You can see pictures of the display in the gallery below:

In addition to some man on the street promotion, a website has launched to coincide with the convention appearance. Trask-Industries.com went live today and teases some sort of 50th anniversary celebration at the Hard Rock Hotel and a special reveal on the site. It’s interesting to note that it is also the X-Men’s 50th anniversary as well and the comic side of things will be celebrating with an X-book event called ‘Battle of the Atom’. It’ll be cool to see what the film side of the franchise has planned as well.

As we wait and see what else the studio has planned for the next installment of the ‘X-Men’ film franchise, what are your thoughts on the design of the Sentinel? Are you a fan of Bolivar Trask’s work? And how awesome are those propaganda posters?! Share your thoughts in the comments.

With SDCC in full gear now, we’re sure to get much more news here at ScienceFiction.com, so be sure to stay tuned, especially on Saturday after 4:15pm since that’s when 20th Century Fox will take the stage in Hall H to talk about their upcoming projects.
