Ender's Game

Recruitment videos are all the rage these days. Recently, Kick-Ass pleaded with people to join the ranks of the superhero group, Justice Forever. Now, Harrison Ford is out doing some recruiting of his own. While he’s not looking for new members of the Rebel Alliance, this time around he’s looking for people who can put up a fight.

In the latest bit of marketing for ‘Ender’s Game’, Ford suits up as Colonel Hyrum Graff to encourage the masses that they could be the new breed of soldier that the International Fleet is looking for. Then, if you feel so inspired to take up arms and join the cause, you can take the Strategic Aptitude Test to determine your place at Battle School. But before you get too far ahead of yourself, here’s the viral video:

Recent controversy aside, an ‘Ender’s Game’ movie has been a long time in the making and it seems like Summit Entertainment really has another cool franchise on their roster now. Without incorporating your feelings about Orson Scott Card, how do you think this film looks? Are you excited to see it finally hit theaters? What are the chances of director Gavin Hood redeeming himself from ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ with this new film? Let us know what you think in the comments.

And if you wanted to know more about the film, here’s the synopsis:

In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham, all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff and the International Military are training only the best young minds to find the future Mazer.

Ender Wiggin, a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is recruited to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham himself to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

‘Ender’s Game’ starring Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, and Ben Kingsley is scheduled for a November 1, 2013 release.
