New casting has been announced for ‘the sequel to ‘The Woman in Black’ titled, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death’. Newcomer’s Jeremy Irvine (‘War Horse’) and Phoebe Fox (‘Black Mirror’) are slated to star in the new installment, hopefully fans of the original that starred Daniel Radcliffe aren’t terribly disappointed.

However, those that actually saw the original would understand why Radcliffe isn’t able to appear in the sequel, however, with all of the backwards story-lines, re-imaginings and terrible plots of horror films these days, I guess it wouldn’t be super far fetched if filmmakers tried to reel in fans of Harry Potter with a promise of a Radcliffe cameo. We’re on to you, money-grubbers!

To give you all a refresher on what the original movie, released in 2012 followed, here is a synopsis from ‘The Woman in Black’:

“Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), a widowed lawyer whose grief has put his career in jeopardy, is sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of a recently deceased eccentric. But upon his arrival, it soon becomes clear that everyone in the town is keeping a deadly secret. Although the townspeople try to keep Kipps from learning their tragic history, he soon discovers that the house belonging to his client is haunted by the ghost of a woman who is determined to find someone and something she lost… and no one, not even the children, are safe from her vengeance.”

There isn’t an official site for the new film yet, but here’s the plot line for ‘Angel of Death’:

“Will continue the story four decades later. Seized by the government during World War II, the sudden arrival of a group of evacuated children at Eel Marsh House awakens its darkest inhabitant”.

The film is to be directed by Tom Harper and has yet to announce the release date so stay tuned for that. The first installment of ‘The Lady in Black’ did phonemically well.
