With ‘ Oz: the Great and Powerful ‘ to be released in a couple months, Disney has unveiled another group of images to complement the trailers, photos and TV spots already released to announce its arrival.
The photos continue to display the visual spectacle of the film and you get to see more detail of the costumes the cast are wearing. The look of the film already has some comparing ‘ Oz: the Great and Powerful ‘ to another Disney-fied tale, ‘Alice in Wonderland.’
But unlike ‘Alice,’ the story of Oscar Diggs is not based on a real literary tale but is considered a prequel to L. Frank Baum’s ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ about how the great Wizard came to the Emerald City.
The images really bring to life the Land of Oz and we even get a better look at the Yellow Brick Road! Have a look at how wonderful Oz can be even with that pesky Wicked Witch of the West!
Synopsis:
When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late.
Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity — and even a bit of wizardry — Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
