Dark Horse Comics, the largest independent American comic book and manga publisher, will be bringing Guillermo del Toro (‘Hellboy’, ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’) and novelist Chuck Hogan (‘Prince of Thieves’) vampire horror trilogy ‘The Strain’ to life on Geek and Sundry as an all new motion comic.

‘The Strain’ is the story of Boeing 777 that lands at JFK International Airport and goes dark on the runway, the Center for Disease Control, fearing a terrorist attack, calls in Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his team of expert biological-threat first responders. Only an elderly pawnbroker from Spanish Harlem suspects a darker purpose behind the event-an ancient threat intent on covering mankind in darkness.

If you haven’t been reading this great book from Dark Horse Comics (you should frankly be ashamed), this is a great opportunity to hop on board to see what happens when an ancient evil invades New York City. (Spolier… it’s not pretty. Not pretty at all.)

‘The Strain’ from director Guillermo del Toro and novelist Chuck Hogan will premiere on Wednesday September 26, 2012.
