A couple of weeks ago, news broke that most of the cast of Joss Whedon’s cult sci-fi series ‘Firefly’ would be reuniting for a special 10th anniversary panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The panel is set to include ‘Firefly’ stars Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, and Sean Maher along with showrunner Tim Minear, writer Jose Molina, and none other than the creator, Joss Whedon himself!

That announcement, while awesome, came as a little bittersweet to some fans… namely, those of us who aren’t attending SDCC. Now, thanks to the Science Channel, us fans who are missing the panel don’t have to feel so bad. Thanks to the Science Channel, we will get to see most of, if not all, of the Comic-Con panel. Science will be at the SDCC shooting a new one-hour special titled ‘Browncoats Unite’ to celebrate the aforementioned 10th anniversary. That means that they will be filming at the Comic-Con panel this coming Friday. In addition to the panel, the cast will be filming a behind-the-scenes roundtable interview to discuss fan questions about the canceled-too-soon series.

According to Debbie Myers, the executive VP of Science:

Firefly is a landmark work of science fiction and a favorite with our viewers. Ever since it premiered on Science, fans have asked us to do something special to mark its 10-year anniversary. With this signature celebration, punctuated by Browncoats Unite, we will connect the minds behind this classic franchise with its legions of passionate fans.

The ‘Browncoats Unite’ special will air on November 11th following an all-day marathon of ‘Firefly’. All I have to say to that it is… Shiny!

Oh! And let’s get this show back on the air! I will say that also.
