Considering primary filming of the movie ‘Man of Steel’ has been wrapped for several months now, very little is known about the film but the newest synopsis may give audiences an idea and even more.

The new plot details comes courtesy of the IMAX website and seems to validate the assumptions that this new origin reboot of Superman may be loosely inspired by the comics ‘Superman: Birthright’ and ‘Superman: Secret Origin:’

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

The IMAX page announcing the film was been temporarily taken down as it had also revealed that the film would be shown in IMAX 3D. Since the movie was neither shot in 3D or IMAX, it was left for everyone to assume that the film would be post-converted to fit that format. Apparently this was news to Warner Bros as Variety reports via Twitter that the studio is still contemplating a 3D conversion and a final decision has yet to be made.

With ‘Man of Steel’ getting ready for an appearance at Comic-Con this weekend, it’s a sure bet the panel will be asked this question and the decision will be revealed soon.

‘Man of Steel’ stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Laurence Fishburne and flies theaters on June 14th, 2013.
