A new sizzle reel for the upcoming ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome’ has leaked to the net today. The new show is a prequel to Syfy’s reimagined ‘Battlestar Galactica’, which ended its run back in 2009. But, since this trailer was officially released by either Universal or Syfy, there’s still no word on whether this will be an real show or a web series as has been hinted at before.

Either way, the new series will follow a young not-yet-Admiral Adama during the tenth year of the Cylon War. Adama, played by Luke Pasqualino (‘Skins’) is a newly graduated recruit of the Academy and is on his first assignment aboard the newest Battlestar ship… The Galactica!

‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome’ also stars Ben Cotton (‘The Chronicles of Riddick’), Mike Dupod (‘Stargate Universe’), and Jill Teed (‘Stargate – SG1’).

But enough of the casting and story, you’re here for the trailer. Check it out below!

I didn’t really get into the remade ‘Battlestar Galactica’ show (despite it being recommended to me on multiple occasions), but this trailer does look badass. What do you think? Are you ready for more Battlestar on TV? Comment below and let us know.

Update (3/21/12 7:12pm): It looks like we (almost) have our answer as to what kind of series ‘Blood and Chrome’ will be. Deadline reports that Syfy has scrapped the idea for the series and, unless things change, plans to air the already-filmed 90-minute pilot as a movie on the Syfy Channel and to continue the story as a web series. More updates as we get them.
