Latest Photos Of Captain America On The Set Of ‘The Avengers’ – And A Villain? (Updated)

Yesterday, Cleveland was rocked with a series of explosions while filming an epic battle on the set of Marvel Pictures’ upcoming ‘The Avengers’. Today, Avengers star Chris Evans was caught in his full Captain America gear by some intrepid photographers while filming some outdoor scenes! We might even be getting a glimpse at a villain and his weapon in these pics. Any guess who the villain is?

Chris donned a pair of dark shades and a trenchcoat in an attempt to cover the star-spangled outfit when not filming but the photos give us a wonderful look at the hero in his threads which have been updated since we previously saw him in this past Summer’s ‘Captain America’.

‘The Avengers’, directed by Joss Whedon, will release May 4, 2012 and stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel L. Jackson.

    I thought, ‘Radioactive Man’ when I saw the villain.  But I’m not sure about the weapon?
