In an exclusive, The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Bruce Willis is currently in negotiations with Paramount to play the original G.I. Joe, General Joe Colton, in ‘G.I.Joe 2: Retaliation’. Willis was one of the actors that the producers were hoping to play this role and it looks like they are getting their wish!

General Colton was the man in the 1980’s comic books who started the Ultimate Freedom fighting Force and was the first to receive the code name G.I. Joe.

In addition to ‘G.I. Joe 2’, Willis is also slated to star in yet another ‘Die Hard’ movie ‘Die Hard 5’ as well as play the central villain in ‘The Expendables 2”.

With the announcement of Willis, it looks like the movie will begin to bring in some big star power to the cast. Willis will be joining returning cast members Channing Tatum (as Duke), Ray Park (as Snake Eyes) and Byung –hun Lee (as Stormshadow). Newcomers Dwayne Johnson (as Roadblock), Elodie Yung (as Jinx), Adianne Palick (as Lady Jaye), RZA (as the Blind Master), Joseph Mazzello (as Mouse) and Ray Stevenson (as Firefly) round off the cast. Filming will begin next month in New Orleans with a June 29, 2012 release date.
