Lauren Tsai

When FX’s ‘Legion‘ returns for the third season later this year there will be at least one new face as Lauren Tsai (‘Terrace House: Aloha State’) has joined the cast as a new mutant! This will be Tsai’s first official acting gig having previously only starred in a reality series and is known for being a model and artist. On the series, we’ll see her playing a mutant named Switch who is “described as a young mutant whose secret ability serves as the key to executing David Haller’s plan.”

It isn’t clear at this time if Switch will be a new mutant or a gender-swapped version of the X-Force villain who was a member of the New Hellions. The original comic version was a young man named Devon Almar who had the ability to switch his consciousness into another person’s and trade bodies with them. It would leave his target trapped within his own body while he walked around as the person he was inhabiting. It should be noted that while this can be useful, he didn’t have the memories of whoever’s body he took over so it wouldn’t easily allow for him to pretend to be another for an extended period of time.

‘Legion’ has taken liberties with the overall “X-Men” lore so far and it would come as no surprise to see either another mutant with the same name pop up here or a different version of Switch. It isn’t clear what Haller’s plan will be that would require the ability to replace someone temporarily.

Are you looking forward to the return of ‘Legion’ for a third season? Do you feel that this Switch will be a new take on the one from ‘X-Force’ or a different mutant completely? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
