spiderman homecoming

Fans watching the MTV Movie awards this past weekend got a real treat when they got to see an exclusive new clip from ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming‘ during the awards show, though to be fair, the new clip was one that we had already seen a lot of during the trailer.

The scene in question involved Peter coming home one night in full Spidey attire, doing his best to stay quiet so Aunt May does not discover his secret, carefully climbing inside his bedroom window, quietly closing said window with his foot, crawling along the ceiling so as not to cause footsteps, and then dropping softly to the floor so he can change out of his costume. And of course, little does he realize that his friend, Ned Leeds, has been waiting for him inside his bedroom, holding the LEGO Death Star they had planned on finishing that night, watching in complete shock as his best friend revealed his spider abilities. Ned drops the Death Star, which shatters (!!), and Peter hastily changes out of the Spidey-suit, trying to calm down Ned while yelling to Aunt May that everything is alright.

It’s a fun scene, but again, we already saw Ned dropping the Death Star in the trailer, so nothing too new here, but I’m ok with it, because I don’t want to see too much of the movie before it actually comes out. And it is cool to see more of the inner workings of the suit itself, including the odd way Peter takes it off at the end of the day (which makes sense I suppose considering it is skin-tight). Check out the clip for yourself below, courtesy of MTV’s Tweet:

Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.

What are your thoughts of the clip, and ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ in general? Are you as excited for Spider-Man’s first official solo movie in the MCU as I am? Share your opinions on the matter in the comments below!
