Sony Pictures Television and the Playstation Network are really ramping up the star power for the second season of their first original TV series, ‘Powers’. After bringing in Eddie Izzard for season one as the villainous Wolfe, the show recently added veteran actor Michael Madsen from ‘Reservoir Dogs’, ‘Kill Bill’, and ‘Free Willy’ as SuperShock, this universe’s equivalent to Superman. Now, another fan favorite actress has been added to the mix as well.

According to a press release from earlier this week, sci-fi staple Tricia Helfer will be joining ‘Powers’ for Season Two, which is currently filming right now. While the Canadian model and actress has appeared in a number of shows including ‘The Spectacular Spider-Man’, ‘Community’, ‘Ascension’, ‘Tron: Uprising’, and Alan Tudyk’s new webseries ‘Con Man’, she is best known as the Cylon known as Number Six from Ron D. Moore’s ‘Battlestar Galactica’ reboot. But when we meet her on this show, she’ll be causing some trouble Powers Division in more ways than one.

Helfer will play FBI Special Agent Lange, who “shares a history and palpable sexual tension” with Sharlto Copley’s Detective Christian Walker. It’s also said that Agent Lange “walks a fine line between the Powers world and the government, and can be both ally and enemy when it suits her agenda”. But for more on what’s going on in the series overall, here’s the official synopsis for the second season:

Set amidst today’s paparazzi culture, ‘Powers’ asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals?  The new season will delve into the storyline made famous by the first comic “Who Killed Retro Girl?” as the Powers Division investigates the shocking murder of the world famous superhero and the mysteries that her death uncovers.
