In the season two premiere of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, we were treated to a whole mess of guest stars. From Lucy Lawless’ Isabelle Hartley to Brian Patrick Wade’s Absorbing Man to Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter, there were plenty of new and exciting faces to welcome (or welcome back) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first episode. Although, this parade doesn’t stop here as even more guests are expected to this party, particularly former Wonder Woman, Adrianne Palicki. The ‘Friday Night Lights’ and ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ star will join the cast as Bobbi Morse AKA Mockingbird later this season, but we have a special first look at the character right now.

Entertainment Weekly offers this sneak peak at Palicki’s MCU debut, however, the character is a little different than we remember her from the comics. According to the article, we won’t see her suited up as Mockingbird just yet, but instead she’ll be rocking a HYDRA uniform as the evil organization’s head of security. Confused? Hold that thought while you look at the picture first:

She looks very M. Bison chic, doesn’t she? Anyway, if you’re worried about this version of the character being an extreme departure from the source material, remember this: Bobbi works undercover a lot. As recently as the last volume of ‘Secret Avengers’, the veteran S.H.I.E.L.D. operative (and former spouse of Hawkeye) has been known to infiltrate organizations under deep cover to complete her missions. While the report suggests that Morse could be a friend or foe when we meet her on October 21st, I feel like the episode’s title of ‘A Hen in the Wolf House’ might be more of an indication of this character’s allegiance. Then again, we can’t really make the call for sure, so don’t get mad if I end up being wrong.

What do you think of this first look at Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? Do you think that the writers have gone in a completely different direction with the character? Or do you subscribe to my undercover theory? Sound off in the comments below.
