Mousa Kraish (The Jinn) Has Also Been Let Go From 'American Gods' Season 3
Starz

Orlando Jones wasn’t the only series regular that wasn’t asked to return for the upcoming third season of Starz’s ‘American Gods’.  Mousa Kraish, who played the fiery-eyed Jinn, has also announced that he was not asked back.  Kraish broke the news via Twitter on Sunday, on the heels of Jones’ announcement.  Like Jones, Kraish made certain to thank series co-creator Bryan Fuller, and Starz, and stated that should he ever be asked back, he would return gladly.  He was let got before filming of Season 3 began, so the Jinn won’t be in those episodes at all.

You can check out Kraish’s announcement below:

Kraish’s Jinn only made a short but memorable appearance during Season 1, in a sequence in which the Jinn had a sexual encounter with the hapless immigrant salesman Salim (Omid Abtahi), which inspired Salim to embark on a journey to find the Jinn after he slipped out during the night.  Eventually, in Season 2, Salim located the Jinn and when last seen, the two were leaving on a journey of their own.

Unfortunately, after the memorable (and smokin’ HOT) one-night-stand between the Jinn and Salim in Season 1, and Abtahi’s lovable portrayal of Salim in subsequent episodes, neither character contributed much to the second season, even after both were bumped up to series regular status.  It has since been revealed that Abtahi has also been dropped from the cast.

It looks as though there are going to be a lot of changes for Season 3, so stay tuned for updates.

Are you still looking forward to Season 3 of ‘American Gods’?
