Not surprisingly, AMC has renewed ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ for a sixth season. The announcement came at the San Diego Comic-Con panel, along with the announcement that Colby Minifie, Peter Jacobson and Colby Hollman would join the cast.

Also unveiled was a trailer for the second half of Season 5.
“The trailer features the return of Logan (Matt Frewer), Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sarah (Mo Collins) teamed up in a Grease-style drag race, and the entire crew in a faux documentary comprised of Al’s (Maggie Grace) video camera footage.”
The midseason finale airs this Sunday, and then the show will take a short break before returning on August 11. Alycia Debnam-Carey, who has played Alicia Clark since the series began (the only original cast member left), spoke about the mid-season finale, saying:
“It was a midseason finale that felt like filming a finale. It’s big in scope. It’s very big. It was an exhausting episode in a great way.”
In addition to Debnam-Carey, the cast of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ includes Garret Dillahunt, Jenna Elfman, Maggie Grace, Lennie James, and Daryl Mitchell.
As for the new cast members, Colby Minifie will appear as Ashley in Amazon’s upcoming series ‘The Boys’, and has also had recurring roles on ‘Jessica Jones’ and ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’. Peter Jacobson most recently starred as John Rogers on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’, and also starred on ‘Colony’, ‘The Americans’, and ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’. Colby Hollman appears to be a newcomer.
‘Fear the Walking Dead’ averages two million viewers each episode and is AMC’s second-best performing series, behind– what else?– ‘The Walking Dead’. Its renewal is no surprise, as the network is prepping a third ‘Walking Dead’ series, in hopes that there will be new ‘TWD’ episodes airing nearly year-long.
‘Fear the Walking Dead’ airs on Sunday nights on AMC at 9 pm EST.
