Henry Ian Cusick Departs 'The 100' After Six Seasons
The CW

Henry Ian Cusick has become the latest original cast member of The CW’s ‘The 100’ to depart.  Cusick has played Marcus Kane, the love interest of the show’s main character Abby (Paige Turco), since the show’s beginning.  In recent episodes, his mind had been transferred into a new younger body (played by Greyston Holt).  After leading a revolt, he opts to die, taking the new Nightblood serum with him.

In case fans were holding out hope that the character would return somehow, Cusick took to Twitter to say goodbye and to thank the show’s cast, crew, and fans:

‘The 100’s showrunner Jason Rothenberg also took to Twitter to pay tribute to Cusick and Kane.

‘The 100’ has been a staple of The CW’s summer lineup since 2014.  In April, it was renewed for a seventh season.  The show airs on Tuesday nights.

When nuclear Armageddon destroys civilization on Earth, the only survivors are those on the 12 international space stations in orbit at the time. Three generations later, the 4,000 survivors living on a space ark of linked stations see their resources dwindle and face draconian measures established to ensure humanity’s future. Desperately looking for a solution, the ark’s leaders send 100 juvenile prisoners back to the planet to test its habitability. Having always lived in space, the exiles find the planet fascinating and terrifying, but with the fate of the human race in their hands, they must forge a path into the unknown.
