Henry Ian Cusick has become the latest original cast member of The CW’s ‘The 100’ to depart. Cusick has played Marcus Kane, the love interest of the show’s main character Abby (Paige Turco), since the show’s beginning. In recent episodes, his mind had been transferred into a new younger body (played by Greyston Holt). After leading a revolt, he opts to die, taking the new Nightblood serum with him.

In case fans were holding out hope that the character would return somehow, Cusick took to Twitter to say goodbye and to thank the show’s cast, crew, and fans:
All things end and that’s was Kane’s. Thanks to @JRothenbergTV and all the cast crew writers directors of #the100 but especially to you #kabby and #kane supporters, your passion and support over the years has been truly wonderful and I love you guys for that! May we meet again X

‘The 100’s showrunner Jason Rothenberg also took to Twitter to pay tribute to Cusick and Kane.
I have to say it was a pleasure and an honor to have @hicusick on our show for the past 6 years. The guy classed up the joint. Really helped us make the point that we were not a teen show. Not that there’s anything wrong with teen shows. Anyway, we will miss him. #The100

‘The 100’ has been a staple of The CW’s summer lineup since 2014. In April, it was renewed for a seventh season. The show airs on Tuesday nights.
When nuclear Armageddon destroys civilization on Earth, the only survivors are those on the 12 international space stations in orbit at the time. Three generations later, the 4,000 survivors living on a space ark of linked stations see their resources dwindle and face draconian measures established to ensure humanity’s future. Desperately looking for a solution, the ark’s leaders send 100 juvenile prisoners back to the planet to test its habitability. Having always lived in space, the exiles find the planet fascinating and terrifying, but with the fate of the human race in their hands, they must forge a path into the unknown.
