Hulu

The rights for Marvel’s Netflix shows are confusing with the streaming giant preventing current actors from returning to play their roles for multiple years, but at least one rival is open to bringing them on board. With Disney’s increased stake in Hulu, we already know that they’re happy to continue working together. Disney+ will likely have different audiences than Hulu currently has and we know that Marvel TV is still announcing new shows on Hulu such as ‘MODOK,’ ‘Hit-Monkey,’ “Tigra & Dazzler Show,’ ‘Howard the Duck,’ and ‘The Offenders.’

However, Hulu appears to be interested in expanding even further into Marvel territory.

Executive Craig Erwich was recently asked if Hulu would be open to bringing shows back from Netflix’s premature cancellation:

“Marvel has a ton of titles we’d be interested in. It kind of just depends on when they’re ready, [and] who, most importantly, is going to be behind these things.”

This isn’t confirmation that they’ll be taking over these shows. With ‘The Punisher’ and ‘Jessica Jones‘ having not officially joined ‘Daredevil,’ ‘Iron Fist,’ and ‘Luke Cage’ as being canceled, there is even a chance that they won’t all be available. On top of that, it seems unlikely that Netflix will want to play ball to help it’s most significant competition by letting these rights and actor contracts revert to Marvel.

True Believers can continue to hope that a deal will be reached and with Disney+’s more family-friendly programming it does feel like Hulu could be a good home for these shows, but I wouldn’t count on it happening.

Would you be thrilled to hear that Hulu could somehow get the rights to the Marvel Netflix shows? Is there another streaming service or channel that would be a better fit for these characters? Share your thoughts below!
