MIB: International

The new extended international trailer for ‘Men in Black: International’ contains a little Easter Egg to assure anyone that was in doubt that this picture is not a reboot of the franchise, but rather an excursion of sorts.  Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones’ exploits remain in canon and this is simply a glimpse of things happening elsewhere.

This nod comes very early in the clip and fans are treated to a shot of two oil paintings hanging up in the European branch of the Men in Black organization.  In one appears Chris Hemsworth and Liam Neeson’s new characters, but in the other, viewers can see Agents J and K.

That’s not the only Easter Egg either.  Just wait until the end.

You can check out the new trailer below:

Yep, Hemsworth’s Agent H is shown tossing a tiny hammer at his extraterrestrial enemy.  Well, it’s no Mjolnir!

And here is a still image of the paintings:

Neeson, whose character’s name is unknown, is shown in the field with Hemsworth’s Agent H at the beginning of the trailer and the painting indicates that they have been partners for some time.  But it’s evident from this and previous trailers, that Neeson gets promoted to the head of the European division, meaning that the time is right for Hemsworth to get a new partner.  Luckily, the intrepid Molly, played by Tessa Thompson has managed the unthinkable– she’s sneaked her way into MIB headquarters and manages to talk her way into a position with them as the new Agent M.

‘Men in Black: International’ also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail NanjianiRafe Spall, and Emma Thompson who reprises her role as Agent O.  Dancers and models Laurent Nicolas Bourgeois and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois are also set to appear.

‘Men in Black: International’ (or is it just ‘MIB: International’, now?) opens on June 14, 2019.
