bird box

While ‘A Quiet Place’ made everyone who wanted to survive unable to make noise, Netflix is going a different direction in this trailer for their upcoming horror film ‘Bird Box.’ Starring Sandra Bullock, the idea is that you can’t open your eyes outside or there is a good chance that you’ll end up dead. The film also includes a slew of amazing actors such as BD Wong, Sarah Paulson, and John Malkovich. This release is clearly a win for the streaming giant, and this is only our first look at it! The movie will be directed by Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier and is based on the 2014 novel with the same name by Josh Malerman.

Bullock’s character Malorie is traveling with her two young children and trying to keep them safe in a world where monsters have emerged. Anyone who sees them are driven by their worst fears to commit suicide.

Navigating our world blind is no easy task and to travel with two kids at the same time seems as if you’d almost be guaranteed to suffer the same fate as if you didn’t have a blindfold on.

My only negative takeaway from this trailer is that the movie is being advertised in October and we won’t have a chance to see it this holiday season even if it feels like the perfect movie to come out for Halloween.

When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life. Facing the unknown, Malorie finds love, hope, and a new beginning only for it to unravel. Now she must flee with her two children down a treacherous river to the one place left that may offer sanctuary. But to survive, they’ll have to undertake the perilous two-day journey blindfolded. Academy Award® winner Sandra Bullock leads an all-star cast that includes Trevante Rhodes, with Sarah Paulson, and John Malkovich in #BirdBox, a compelling new thriller from Academy Award® winner Susanne Bier.

‘Bird Box’ will be available on Netflix on December 21st, 2018!
