We’ve been hearing rumors of a new ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space‘ series or movie happening for a while now and it appears that it will be joined by another outing of ‘Critters’ and both are slated to take place on Syfy! The idea of a horror reboot is no stranger to the network as it seems to be a direction that they’re leaning towards pursuing on an ongoing basis.
Fans of ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space’ have been hoping for a sequel for decades with the Chiodo brothers constantly saying that they’ve been working on a sequel movie or even television series. While this is likely slated to be a movie, there is always the chance this could end up as an ongoing series as well. Either way, it looks like the cotton candy dreams of those who have wanted more of these Klowns are finally going to have their wishes filled!
As to Stephen Herek’s ‘Critters,’ there were 3 follow up films releases in 1988, 1991, and 1992 though Herek was only involved in the first outing. Over the past summer a web series titled ‘Critters: A New Binge’ was shot meant to reboot the series, and it is unclear if that will somehow factor into the new Syfy outing, still be released, or will be lost with this new iteration coming to life. Those that have been as hungry for more as these space critters always are, do finally have a reason to be happy again.
Are you happy to hear that both ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space’ and ‘Critters’ are having new movies made? Do you hope that these movies will be sequels to the first films or reboots?
