DC Collectibles April Solicits
Our good friends at DC Collectibles are also on top of getting the word out early on some of their latest releases! This week they began solicitations for a number of statues that they will be releasing in April 2019 with new pieces (and colorways) from their ‘Artist Alley’ line, as well as ‘Batman Black & White’, ‘DC Bombshells’, ‘DC Core’ and more! A skilled and multifaceted creator, Joe Ledbetter (a.k.a. JLed) has experience as an artist, illustrator and (perhaps most importantly for Artists Alley)…a toy designer. Born from humble origins in underground art shows and influenced by 1980s video games, animation and skateboarding, he’s risen in prominence thanks to his crisp, bold lines, a vibrant palette and work that is socially conscious, reflective and human.
JLed’s anthropomorphic creature work has been a hallmark of his design, and his take on DC characters is a delightful mix of literalism and playfulness.

For the latest statue of the DC Designer Series, Ivan Reis has made his own construct of the Green Lantern. Reis served as the primary artist during two of the biggest Green Lantern stories in the last decade—Blackest Night and Brightest Day—and this statue is a wonderful 3-D execution of his work from the page.

Surprise: Gamestop Has Turtle Power!
In a shocking announcement this week, the team at NECA has announced that their previously SDCC exclusive 7″ ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ figures based on the classic 1990 live action adaptation would soon be making their way to Gamestop stores! These figures will be sold individually for the first time, as the previous SDCC exclusive version was sold only as a complete 4-figure box set. NECA has stated that these figures will also not include quite as many accessories as there were in the original convention exclusive box-set, but that seems a fair trade off for these previously incredibly hard to obtain figures reaching the shelves of a major retailer like Gamestop. Additionally, this is just one more step that shows Gamestop is ready to become a new power-player in the toys and collectibles market in a post ToysRUs world. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring you this mind-blowing GAMESTOP EXCLUSIVE – Individually packaged 7” Scale figures from the 1990 #TMNT movie! They’re not arriving until early 2019, but you can pre-order now on the GameStop website. They’ll come in a scaled down version of the 1/4 Scale packaging and won’t have quite as many accessories, but at last, the retail release we’ve been working on for so long.

Just in time for the upcoming holiday season, NECA’s newest holiday themed figure in their 8″ Retro Style line Buddy The Elf is hitting the shelves! Each year NECA has been releasing a new figure from fan favorite holiday movies with previous years giving us figures from ‘Home Alone’, ‘A Christmas Story’, and ‘National Lampoons Christmas Vacation’, and this year we’re getting the titular hero from the 2003 holiday comedy ‘Elf’! Featuring a spot on likeness of actor Will Ferrell, Buddy The Elf comes in real cloth clothes and includes a bottle of maple syrup, a bag of spaghetti, and a snowglobe! Buddy will be in stores this September with an expected retail price of $30.99.
Hot Toys Brings The Baba Yaga
When ‘John Wick’ hit theaters back in 2014, we don’t think that anyone expected it to become the smash hit that redefined action films for the next generation. We may be waiting quite some time before we get to see the upcoming 8th and final season of HBO’s fantasy drama ‘Game Of Thrones’, but thanks to the team at ThreeZero we will be see at least one more piece of Season 7 coming to our collections with their new updated 1:6th scale Season 7 Tyrion Lannister figure!
