Two new trailers for The CW’s reboot of ‘Charmed’ have been released! The premiere of the reboot is just weeks away, and the trailers give fans a fresh look at the new witchy sisters!
The first trailer is titled ‘Bond’ and features the sisters played by Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, and Sarah Jeffery. The three discover they have the power to practice magic after the unexplained death of their mother, played by Valerie Cruz. The sisters must combine their powers to fight against the darkness and, in their own words, “change the course of humanity.”
‘Chant’ is the second trailer, which focuses on the supernatural aspect of the series, which goes beyond the spellcasting abilities of the main characters. The show also features demons, Ouija boards, and lots of magical chanting playing in the background. While the show is about family, trailers make it clear that there will be some darker elements as well.
The ‘Charmed’ reboot was co-developed by Jennie Snyder Urman (‘Jane the Virgin’). The stars and creators of the reboot have made it clear that the show will not serve as a remake of the original series that ran on The WB for eight seasons. Instead, the series will be a modern update that puts the sisters in today’s world. In fact, while appearing at TCA 2018, ‘Charmed’ producer Amy Rardin accidentally revealed that the first episode would include a thinly-veiled commentary regarding the president, though he will not be mentioned by name.
The reboot also stars Rupert Evans, Ser’Darius Blaine, Charlie Gillespie, and Ellen Tamaki. ‘Charmed’ premieres on The CW Sunday, Oct. 14. Check out the two new trailers below!
