Dave Bautista has made it very clear that he stands with the rest of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ cast and wants James Gunn to be rehired, however saying that he isn’t happy with the situation is putting it mildly. In fact, if Gunn doesn’t get asked back to the franchise, it could very well mean that Bautista will be leaving it once his contract comes to an end. It looks like there wouldn’t be any extensions in Drax’s future as things stand.
When recently asked, the actor did confirm that he will return for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ even if Gunn isn’t invited back, but only because he signed a contract:
I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for. GOTG w/o @JamesGunn just isn’t GOTG. Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis . That’s just how I feel https://t.co/Ym4FwruVDu

If you’ve got Twitter blocked wherever you are at, this Guardians star was asked “Love your support for @JamesGunn. Do you have any plans or response if Disney doesn’t reinstate him for GotG3?”
Bautista’s response was:

Most of the primary cast has already commented on what is happening with Gunn, but Bautista has been the most vocal about his support for the director.
