Daredevil

Just as Marvel’s film releases are settling into a pattern of three releases per year, so too do their Netflix shows appear to be following suit. After making the jump to releasing three seasons last year, the streaming titan has thus far released the second season of ‘Luke Cage‘, with the second season of ‘Iron Fist‘ coming in a month’s time. And now we can add the third season of ‘Daredevil’ to the 2018 list.

Though we don’t yet have a release date – for that matter, this barely qualifies as a formal announcement – we know that the season is coming thanks to a transcript of Netflix’s Q2 2018 earnings call (courtesy of Seeking Alpha). In the course of the call, Chief Financial Officer David Wells rattled off a list of Netflix original series that are returning in 2018, which included a certain horn-headed vigilante:

“And I’d say in the short term we’ve got, I have got the great pleasure of trying to make people very happy and in the short term we’ve got new seasons coming up the second half of this year of ‘Orange is the New Black’, ‘Ozark’, ‘Iron Fist’, ‘Daredevil’, the follow-up series for ‘Making a Murderer’.”

As noted, this isn’t a formal announcement, but the news is nonetheless coming straight from the horse’s mouth. With ‘Iron Fist’ returning in September, it’s likely we won’t hear too much more about ‘Daredevil’ until that series hits. Of course, the fact that New York Comic Con falls about a month after the return of ‘Iron Fist’ likely isn’t an accident. All that being the case, it would be a safe bet that we won’t be returning to Hell’s Kitchen until November at the earliest.
