Sonic The Hedgehog

Sonic’s the name, speed’s my game! In a new interview with Paramount executives and producers, details on the upcoming live-action ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ movie have been revealed! And it sounds…interesting.

James Gianopulos, CEO of Paramount, spoke about the premise for the character of Sonic, calling the Blue Blur a “delinquent.” Gianopulos said:

“He’s a juvenile delinquent on the adventures in a pretty straight rural environment with a local policeman. It was instantly engaging and it was good enough where you could see where it’s going.”

A subsequent interview with producer Neal Moritz gave even more insight into what the film will look like:

“What we’re trying to do with ‘Sonic’ is make a movie about a small-town police officer and Sonic at a time when they are both desperately in need of a friend, and we hope that this theme is friendship is what gives the film its heart and makes it prosper.”

I have questions. Is the cop Miles “Tails” Prower? Is this an origin story? Does Sonic eventually change his delinquent ways to become the little coin gobbler we all know and love!? What. Is. Happening?

Paramount received negative reviews for its live-action ‘Ghost in the Shell’ film, and these interview snippets don’t inspire confidence for our friend Sonic and his film.

The live-action ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ movie will be released next year in theaters on November 15 and stars James Marsden (‘Westworld’).
