Cloak And Dagger

If you think about musicians in Marvel Comics most fans likely think of Dazzler, Spider-Gwen being a member of The Mary Janes, or a slew of other heroes who like to sing or play instruments. Who your mind probably wouldn’t jump to is the Crick-Hits. This is a band which most fans wouldn’t be aware of from both being in only two comics ever as well as not being from the standard Earth-616 universe. When asked about Easter Eggs in the first season of ‘Cloak and Dagger’ that no one has found, showrunner Joe Pokaski dropped a couple of hints and one of them confirmed that the Crick-Hits existed in this world.

Here are the hints he shared:

“There’s, you know, here’s the thing. I put two stupid initials on a towel, don’t think anyone’s going to catch it, and as four articles about it. So it’s hard to slip something by the MCU, but I think something I was surprised didn’t get caught, and maybe it was because you never quite read the shirt, was there is a Marvel band on Tandy’s shirt when she goes to the party and is the cemetery, which there aren’t many, which I was very excited about. I think they’re going to become; we’re going to see a little more of that band in seasons to come.”

You can see a shot from her shirt right here:

So who are the Crick-Hits? They debuted in ‘The Age of the Sentry’ #4 back in 2009 which took place in the Eart-1611 universe. The band consists of Jane Stalling, Peter McMary, Harris Fils, and Bangs Nova. Fans of a certain foursome from the UK might recognize those names, and you can check out where they were introduced right here:

As mentioned by Pokaski, we’ll be seeing more of this band down the line. However, it isn’t clear if they’ll just show up on another shirt, poster, or if we’ll actually see them playing.

Are you impressed that the creators of ‘Cloak and Dagger’ were able to make such an obscure reference which everyone had missed? Do you think that we’ll see more fun Easter Eggs like this pop up as the series continues? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
